Project: CWEE will work with the Electric Power Research Institute to develop a software application that provides verifiable energy intensity (EI) metrics of water systems. This tool can help inform energy savings from water conservation or management programs in joint collaboration between energy utilities and their water agencies. As part of this project, CWEE will streamline methodologies for calculating water system EI and help utilities understand the EI across their operational zones and water assets. Additionally, a database will be designed and created to store inputs required to run the software analyses. The analysis output can be easily integrated into existing geospatial software.
