Project: In this brief study, CWEE will provide a synthesis of current literature on the downstream impacts to wastewater collection and treatment systems from reduced indoor water use. This is the first step in evaluating the future impacts of the new indoor urban water efficiency standards – starting at 55 gallons per capita per day (gpcd) and 50 gpcd by the year 2030). Researchers will detail the relationship between specific flow reductions and their resulting impacts and develop recommendations.
